Unless noted, the luncheon meetings start at 12-noon, refreshments at 11:30 AM, and the guest speaker follows immediately after lunch.  See meeting announcement for location.  Tickets are as indicated in the meeting notice.  

  • January 14, 2008 – Fire Service Joint Meeting, at William Tell, Countryside IL

  • February 11, 2008 – “Compressed Air Foam Systems”

  • March 18, 2008 – “Fire Product Show” – Exhibitors.  Possible Education session:History behind curves

  • April 3, 2008 – “Corn Beef & Cabbage” Meeting, VFW, Berwyn

  • June 16, 2008 – “Aurora Pumps” Field Trip (tentative)

  • June 9, 2008 – “Gaseous Agents”

  • July 22, 2008 – Golf Outing (location to be announced).  Possibly looking at courses in the North West suburbs.

  • August 2008 – No chapter meeting.  Planning meeting for 2009 meetings.  No date selected.

  • September 8, 2008 – “Large Fire Losses – Why have they dropped in Number or, have they?”

  • October 13, 2008 – “Legal Issues with NFPA”

  • November 10, 2008 – Meeting topic to be determined.

  • December 8, 2008 – Annual Awards Meeting, election of 2009 officers

Meeting Venue:
Until further notice, Costa’s Restaurant will continue to be our preferred meeting location located on the corner of Halsted and Van-Buren – Chicago, Illinois.  Please make sure that you look at your e-mail announcements for any meeting changes.

For 2008 and until further notice, the price for people that make reservations will remain the same at $25.00.

Walk-ins:$30
Retiree’s (completely retired): $20
Professional Fire Fighters (In Uniform): $15
Full time Students with valid school ID: $10

 Reservations for our luncheon meeting are not taken by Costa’s.

 Professional Development Hours (PDH):

The announcements will have the number of hours that can be credited (typically 1 or 2 hr).

The printed receipt for lunch will have the PDH credit hours posted for the meeting.  The individual sign-in sheets will be scanned and maintained by the Secretary for future reference.  However, it is still the member’s responsibility to keep track of their own PDH credit for the SFPE meetings they attend.  Copies of the scanned sign-in sheets will be sent to the secretary of our Chapter.
