The following slate of candidates for chapter officer and executive committee positions was announced by the nominating committee at the October 29 chapter meeting. The announcement will be repeated at the November 12 meeting. Voting will be at the December annual meeting.

Other nominations for any of the positions can be made by Chapter members in good standing, and the nominations must be submitted in writing by November 30.

For all who are now receiving chapter announcements for upcoming events, please make sure that you are up-to-date on dues. Chapter members who are members of the international society pay annual dues of $25. For others who wish to be notified of upcoming events, the annual fee is $35. Invoices for 2007 dues have just been mailed. Please pay promptly -- the membership list is purged periodically to eliminate those whose payments are not up-to-date.

If did not receive a dues statement and have not paid 2007 dues or fees but you wish to be a Chicago Chapter member and receive announcements, please contact the Membership Chairman.

If you are not receiving the email announcements but you are current on dues, please send your current email address to the Membership Chairman. Please note that most chapter material is now distributed via email.

New Host for Chapter Website

Almost since the beginning of the Chicago Chapter website, we had been fortunate in obtaining no-cost hosting through the North Suburban Library System and NorthStarNet. This has come to an end, as NorthStarNet is discontinuing this service for not-for-profits and other organizations in the Chicago area. We were very fortunate in obtaining a new host at no cost to the chapter, thanks to Schirmer Engineering and our new host, QBS4. The new hosting took effect on May 29, 2007, with no change to our URL.

Chapter members can now purchase a blue polo shirt with the SFPE logo in full color and the wording "Chicago Chapter" for $20. The men's style in sizes L to 3X is illustrated.
