Material that requires little editing, like job postings and meeting announcements, can be sent directly to the webmaster for posting on the site. All other material should be sent to the Editor, Kim Mniszewski, 630.655.7180, mniszewski@yahoo.com.
Articles, presentations and other items that may require editing should be sent to the newsletter editor. They should be in MS Word, rich text format, or other word processing format that can be imported into MS Word. Attachments, etc. that require no editing can be in Acrobat pdf format.
Photographs and artwork in .gif, .jpg, PowerPoint or other internet-compatible formats are acceptable, but remember that many viewers are on slow dial-up connections on older computers and large files are a detriment. Photographs should be 72 or 96 dpi -- we will reduce to that resolution if necessary. Textual material in any common format should be OK, but see below.
Hint: All visitors to websites can view files in html format (as used on this page), and Adobe Acrobat pdf format is acceptable. We try to convert submissions to html or pdf if possible. Long, complex material may not be converted but will appear as links to files that are in the format in which the material was submitted. There is the danger that the intended viewers will not have the software to read such material (MS Word or PowerPoint, as examples). In cases like this, a short summary that can be converted to html or pdf should be sent with the longer material. Highly formatted text does not convert well and should be avoided.
All material must be in electronic form when submitted. The Editor and the webmaster, in their sole discretion, will make decisions on whether or not to publish on this site or on any editing or condensation that may be done to the material that is submitted.
The individual sections are updated as material becomes available. Look at the chapter's homepage for late-breaking news, and if you're in the job market, check out the job postings frequently.
